Galas
When an event requires an exceptional setting, Mechanics Hall is often the first venue that comes to mind. Over the years, our Great Hall has been the site for many of central Massachusetts’ most elegant events. Our experienced staff will take your ideas and make them a reality, while ensuring that your event runs smoothly.

 

Meetings and Conferences
With five different rooms offering great flexibility and a range of amenities—including audiovisual, sound, and lighting—Mechanics Hall can accommodate a variety of business meetings, conferences, seminars, receptions, and banquets.  Moreover, our professional staff has the expertise and attention to detail to ensure that your event is a success.

Proms and Celebrations
Mechanics Hall is expert at hosting high school proms and collegiate celebrations. Our packages include catered buffets, beverage service, and some staffing. Our caterers are experienced with food allergy issues and provide safe options. Students will enjoy their special night in the elegance of our 19th-century concert hall in a well-secured environment. The Great Hall on the third level is ideal for celebrations with 400 guests and Washburn Hall on the second level can accommodate proms with 100 guests.

 

Awards Events
Awards events of all kinds take place in our Great Hall on the third level and in Washburn Hall on the second level. Both rooms offer staging and audio visual capabilities that accommodate speakers, entertainment, and recognition activities. Seating in both spaces is flexible with an open floor plan, accommodating a variety of set-ups. The Great Hall is ideal for up to 1300 with theater seating, including the balcony, and up to 420 with dinner seating. Washburn Hall is ideal for up to 250 with theater seating, 180 with dinner seating, and 400 with reception style.

 

Graduations
The Great Hall--an unforgettably elegant space for pomp and circumstance-- has hosted high school and collegiate commencements, as well as trade school and civic academy ceremonies, for up to 1,300. The flexible staging offers various seating arrangements for graduates, faculty, and guests. Processionals are impressive and inspiring. The Worcester Organ, which dominates the center stage, is often used for musical accompaniment. Smaller graduation ceremonies of up to 200 can be held in Washburn Hall, with a variety of staging and seating options.
