The 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition was held in Moscow in June. Music Worcester presents silver medalist Yeol eum Son in Mechanics Hall followed by a gala reception with a Russian theme in honor of this extraordinary young musician who will be launching a career, gaining international prominence and becoming an established luminary of the world's leading concert stages.

At June's XIV Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in Moscow, Yeol eum Son also received awards for Best Chamber Concerto Performance and Best Performance of the Commissioned Work. Ms Son was awarded both the Silver Medal and the Steven De Groote Memorial Award for the Best Performance of Chamber Music in the Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition June 2009.
