A young American conductor and 75-year-old Ukrainian Orchestra may seem an unlikely combination. But it was "love at first sight" Hobart Earle said of his conducting debut with the Odessa Philharmonic in 1991. During his 19-year tenure, Earle has elevated the Orchestra to a position of international prominence, unprecedented in the history of the organization. In recognition of his work, Earle was awarded the title "Distinguished Artist of the Ukraine," the first and only foreigner ever to be so honored.

William DeRosa has established himself as one of the leading cellists of his generation. Melding distinctive artistry, profound musicianship and exquisite tone, he was described by the late Leonard Rose as "one of the most brilliant cello talents in the world."
