![]() | Thursday, March 1, 2012 NORDWEST GERMAN STAATSKAPELLE Eugene Tzigane, Conductor Performance 8:00 p.m. Program: Presented by Music Worcester, Inc. In 2010, at 29 years old, the young American conductor, Eugene Tzigane, was appointed Principal Conductor of the Nordwest German Staatskapelle, making him one of the youngest chief conductors in Germany. He has won critical acclaim as a "poised orchestral leader with an incisive beat and fluently elegant movements." The consummate technical skill, highly motivated professionalism and enthusiasm of the Orchestra over the last sixty years are as much appreciated by famous conductors as they are by high-caliber artists. One of these artists is Israeli Cellist Amit Peled, a musician of profound artistry and charismatic stage presence acclaimed as one of the most exciting instrumentalists on today's concert stage.
