The exciting, San Francisco-based New Century Chamber Orchestra - always excellent, always accomplished - looks for fresh, inspiring ways to present classical music by combining performances of extraordinary quality with inoovative programming, Sir Simon Rattle conducted the Orchestra's outstanding 10th anniversary Celebration concert in June 2002 to rave reviews. World renowned and critically acclaimed violin soloist, Chamber Musician and a powerful presence on the recording scene, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg joined the ensemble as Music Director and Concertmaster in 2008. Since taking on the artistic director's role, the internationally known violinist with the electric personality has charged up the already spirited ensemble which plays conductorless.
"Undeniable virtuosity ... spectacular fiddling...irresistible." - Chicago Sun Times
"The Orchestra's performance was superb, a mixture of beauty and abrasive zeal." - San Francisco Chronicle
