Mechanics Hall Concerts for Kids are Produced by Mechanics Hall.
Concerts for Kids are supported by the Worcester Educational Development Foundation through a grant from The Alden Trust; WPI; Worcester Public Schools Performing Arts Program; the Joy of Music Community Music School; and Cumulus Radio WXLO 94.5FM. Each of these organizations has added value to development of these unique, informative, and entertaining concerts!

Introduction to American Composers is an exploration of our great American classical music and includes pieces written by Copland, Bernstein, Joplin, Gershwin, Ives and more! Special performance on the world-renowned Hook organ is included and the program features the fairy tale "The Ballade of Chosen Dumpling" written by Massachusetts composer by Arnold Black. Performed by an outstanding group of professional musicians, the program enhances students' understanding of orchestral instruments and concert behavior. Not only that, it's great entertainment!
Conversations in Jazz

Follow the history and development of Jazz from its roots to contemporary sound. Called the first truly American Music, Jazz continues to grow in popularity. This Concerts for Kids program reveals the story of Jazz and its conversational form. The concert takes the audience on a musical discovery of Jazz from its roots in Africa, the Caribbean and the American South. Mechanics Hall has partnered with WPI, Joy of Music Program, the Sonic Explorers Jazz Ensemble, and the Worcester Public Schools, to create this unique and exciting program.
All Concerts are Free Admission; registration is required.
